The CSIA was founded in 1938 and incorporated in 1949. It is the professional ski teaching body in Canada with its Head Office located in Montreal, Quebec. The CSIA ensures a nationwide ski teaching standard while promoting and teaching the importance of ski safety. It is committed to the development of innovative and effective skiing techniques and teaching methods. Their mandate is to promote professionalism and the profession of ski teaching.
The Level 1 certification course will introduce you to the basic CSIA skiing and teaching methodology to develop skiers from beginners to an intermediate (parallel) standard.

The Canadian Ski Coaches Federation (CSCF), with its partners, educates coaches to lead and develop excellence in ski racing. The CSCF was incorporated in 1976.
The Level 1 program is an introduction to entry level coaching for children ages 12 and under. Focus is on the "FUN-damentals" stage of development in the alpine long term athlete development model.

The Canadian Association for Disabled Skiing (CADS) is a volunteer based organization having as its main objective, assisting individuals with a disability to lead richer and fuller lives through active participation in recreational and competitive snow skiing and snowboarding. The course teaches the basics of instructing people with disabilities including techniques to teach sight impaired or limited mobility individuals.
A 2.5 day course specifically for skiers and snowboarders, involving a mix of theory and practical skills to teach you basic safety knowledge for winter backcountry travel. Learn about formation of avalanches, factors affecting snow-pack, route finding, safety equipment usage, snow-pack observation and assessment, as well as enjoy a few turns in the backcountry.
